Flu Vaccination Information:
FLU: This vaccine prevents the flu. The official name of the disease is influenza.

Influenza – Virus causes an infection that is spread through the fluids of the nose and throat. Influenza can lead to pneumonia and other dangerous conditions for certain people who have other health concerns.

What To Do:
Antiviral drugs are now available to help. Medications to treat the symptoms can be helpful. (Note: Never give aspirin to children or adolescents/teens who have flu like symptoms-and particularly-a fever – consult your health care provider).

Other things you can do include: rest, drink fluids, avoid alcohol and tobacco products. If symptoms appear to be getting worse, consult your health care provider.

Before symptoms occur, get your shots! (NOTE: The flu vaccine is also available in the nasal mist form).
